No one has a good word to say about this city.  The one reason to visit is for its mad carnival which paralyzes Barranquilla with music, dance and parades--and then only if you don't mind risking petty thievery and mass drunkenness: 100,000 cases of rum consumed in four days.   People were friendly; we had no trouble at all.
